DNP DS Series Printer Driver for MAC Guide (PDF)
The printer info tool shows remaining prints and some other information. In fact some of this information is built into the Mac Driver unlike the situation in Windows. In the Mac driver you can see the paper size you are using and also an approximation of how many prints are left on the roll. I am attaching a Mac driver user document which shows some of the screens – notice the items labeled Q & R on page 3, this shows remaining prints. (“supply levels”) Read the PDF for full details.

DNP DS DRIVER AVAILABILITY FOR MAC OS 10.7 (Lion)

Seeing as Apple's new OS X operating system, version 10.7, codename Lion is a major revision, DNP's existing Mac OS Driver version 3 will not install onto this new OS, even though, technically, there is little to no change to the underlying print subsystem. However, if you already have the DS drivers installed prior to upgrading to Lion, you will be able to use their printers just fine with no configuration changes. You will have to get used to a new GUI print menu layout, most notably Apple's upside-down triangle button has been replaced with a Show Details button that must be used to access the advanced features of DNP's printers, or to change the print size.

If the printer’s drivers are already installed, you should be fine to upgrade, or to be sure to install the drivers prior to running the upgrade installer. If you are buying brand new Mac computers that are now shipping with 10.7, the installer will not work, but DNP tech support can probably you through a manual install: 1-888-749-3587 or 1-800-467-4935

EPSON Exhibition CanvasPrinting and Finishing Guidelines

The following guidelines and recommendations are provided by Epson to insure that your Exhibition Canvas print is both produced and can be displayed with your vision in mind for many years to come.

Just as with printing on any high quality inkjet substrate, the proper selection of Epson ink and profile is essential to producing the finest quality Epson Signature Worthy® print. To insure a perfect print, please consult the Instruction and Handling sheet enclosed in the media’s package, and choose the recommended profiles and inks (download ICC profiles from proimaging.epson.com):

• For Exhibition Canvas Matte, use Matte Black ink only
• For Exhibition Canvas Satin, use Photo Black ink only
• For Exhibition Canvas Gloss, use Photo Black ink only


- Make certain that your printer is running the most current version of firmware (available on proimaging.epson.com).
- Make certain that you have downloaded the most current ICC profile. Remember that profiles are specific
to both the type of printer you have and the finish of canvas you are using.
- Please follow all instructions on the READ ME file associated with the ICC profile download including
Media Type, Color Density, etc.

KODAK Photo Printer 6800/6850 Firmware and Software!

This firmware and software update contains all the files necessary to update your 6800/6850 printer and take advantage of improved image quality and more realistic color.

  • All of the updated components must be installed to take advantage of the improvements.
  • In addition to 4x6 inch and 6x8 inch prints, this driver also supports printing 5x7 borderless prints when the KODAK Photo Printer 6850 5R Borderless Conversion Kit is installed. The driver must be configured for use with the conversion kit. Follow the instructions in the driver Readme file to configure the driver for 5R Borderless Printing.


IMPORTANT

Follow all the steps outlined in the Readme to complete this update.
The printer driver and firmware need to be updated to take advantage of improved image quality and more realistic color.

  1. Download and save the file to a location that is easy to access, such as your computer's desktop.
  2. Double-click the " "KODAK_Photo_Printer_6800-6850PRO_SW-FW_Updater(v1001_en).exe" file.
  3. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder and click Unzip. The installers and support files needed to update your software and firmware will be extracted to your system. The Readme_First file will be displayed when all the files have been extracted. Read the contents of the Readme_First.txt file.
  4. Follow the instructions in the Readme file to complete the update of the printer firmware, driver and application software.

Fall of 2010 for the following printer models: KODAK 6800, 6850, 605, 7000, 7010 and 7015 printers.
The media and a companion firmware update provide a host of benefits to user.
• The new firmware will upgrade your printers to the most current set of performance enhancements.
• The product has reduced environmental impact, reduced material waste, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
• The new format reduces storage footprint, yielding more efficient shelf and pallet utilization.
Once the printer firmware update has been installed existing and new media can be interchanged.
