UPDATE: (Upcoming Fall) New Firmware for KODAK 6800, 6850,
605, 7000, 7010 and 7015 printers
New for Fall 2010: Kodak is introducing a new small format media with reduced environmental impact in the
Fall of 2010 for the following printer models: KODAK 6800, 6850, 605, 7000, 7010 and 7015 printers.
The media and a companion firmware update provide a host of benefits to user.
• The new firmware will upgrade your printers to the most current set of performance enhancements.
• The product has reduced environmental impact, reduced material waste, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
• The new format reduces storage footprint, yielding more efficient shelf and pallet utilization.
Once the printer firmware update has been installed existing and new media can be interchanged.

UPDATE: Kodak G3 Stations Service Discontinuation
NOTICE of SERVICE DISCONTINUANCE for G3 ORDER STATIONS
Beginning November 1, 2010, Kodak (KSS) will no longer provide service or support for Kodak G3 Order Stations.
Software updates for G3 order stations will be limited to current operating software KPKv2.2 for LS "Slim" models and KPKv1.7 for "Monty" models. Future KPK operating system releases will only be compatible with G4 series order stations. One additional G3 compatible content update release (calendars, greeting cards, invitations, borders, photo books and collages) will be made available for G3 units. The last compatible content release for G3 units will be available in mid-2010.

UPDATE: MATTE FINISH printing feature is now available immediately
for the Mitsubishi CP3800DW Printer
To install this (OPTIONAL) upgrade just follow the directions provided here:
This optional feature is made possible through a firmware and printer driver upgrade, and is available for Windows systems only. There is no change in the media that is being used with the printer. The current inventory from Mitsubishi has been upgraded with this print feature and is ready to ship out. Printers that are in the field can also be upgraded. The end user must call Mitsubishi's Tech Support department at 1-888.307.0309, to receive the upgrade.
The process can be done over the phone, and takes approximately 30 minutes time to complete.
NOTE: The printer must be connected to a computer with internet access to complete this process.

This upgrade is OPTIONAL, not required. The firmware upgrade only provides changes to allow for the matte finish. Due to this fact, if an end user cannot update the firmware/printer driver over the phone, they may send their printer in to the service center for the upgrade. Cost for service will be $60.00, shipping not included, which will be the responsibility of the end user.

The versions supported for the 64 bit OS (Vista & windows 7) are as follows:

UPDATE:Sony UP-CX1 : New firmware and utility driver v1.31
Sony has released an updated firmware (v1.31) for the very popular UP-CX1 printer. This firmware is meant to address the issue that a small number of people were having with the printout being excessively shifted to one side resulting in uneven margins. In order to use this new capability, you must use the new Utility Driver (v1.00).

With this utility, you will now be able to tweak the left and right alignment of your printers. Once this has been set up, the settings are locked into the firmware of the printer so that all photos will have the same alignment. This is great news for those with multiple printers. Now, you will be able to setup all of your printers to have the same left-right alignment so that your layouts will print out exactly the same on all your printers. The Sony UPDR200 printer now accepts new cut modes for photo printing!
With the new v2.0 driver and firmware, the Sony UPDR200 will now support:
• *2 x 6" inch cuts on 4 x 6" photo paper
• 3.5 x 5" inch cuts on 5 x 7" photo paper
• 4 x 6" inch cuts on 6 x 8" photo paper

UPDATE: New Sony UPDR80 Firmware and Utility Software Now Available

Ver.1.05 is modified from Ver.1.04 as follows:
It avoids the following situation. If the supplied AC power was shut off irregularly
like unplugging the power cable at a subtle timing in the printer recycling process,
the printer might not be recovered after re-powering the printer.

- Your UP-DR80 printer driver has to be version 1.11 or higher in order to run the utility software "Sony Photo Printer Utility".
If your current driver software version is below 1.11, please upgrade the driver software.The version of your printer driver can be found at the About area on the Printer settings screen. For detailed instructions, refer to the driver setup guide.

SnapLab UPCR20L V1.70 Firmware (Sep-30-09)
A New SnapLab UPCR20L V1.60 firmware is available.
This new new firmware allows the UPDR80 printer to be added to the SnapLab UPCR20L. Scaleable size solutions are a Sony advantage. Not only can retailers start with a low-investment turnkey system, such as the SnapLab system, but they can add to it as the business grows, with printers such as the UP-DR200 and UP-DR80 models.
